Mandarin Palace Hornchurch stands out as a beloved gem in the heart of Hornchurch, offering an authentic Chinese dining experience that locals rave about. Reviewers consistently highlight the restaurant's excellent customer service and the warm, inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a quaint 17th-century setting.

Adarsh expresses enthusiasm over the quality of the takeaway, praising well-packaged items and a *10/10* rating. Family-oriented vibes are captured by NGUK KITCHENS, who appreciates the restaurant's consistent hospitality over their five-year patronage. The extensive menu does not disappoint, catering to diverse tastes with popular British Chinese fare, as noted by Tarun Yadav. However, he mentions ice cream that missed the mark due to its hard texture.

Lloyd Stevens paints an idyllic picture of a delightful evening with a gourmet platter and flavorful mains that reflect skilled cooking. The nostalgic touches, such as complimentary prawn crackers and an old-school dessert that made the night even more special, draw in patrons looking for a memorable experience.

Ultimately, Mandarin Palace successfully marries flavor and ambiance, garnering strong recommendations as a perfect family dining choice. Whether dining in or ordering out, it promises a culinary journey that you won't soon forget.

The Chinese restaurant Mandarin Palace in Hornchurch is top rated and tick all boxes ! We as a family going at least once a month for over 5 years there and always had a warm welcome and good food The restaurant which is located inside the old building gives you a feel of being in 17th century. The personnel is very polite and professional and we as a customers will recommend this place for every family who’s looking for a cool and private Chinese food place

Very good without being great. Had the "usual" British Chinese fare... Prawn Toast, Spring Rolls, Satay Chicken starters - all v.good!; Mains - singapore rice noodles, chicken chow mein, egg fried rice with Szechuan chicken and a Kung Po Prawns - again, all good too! Desserts - However, not so good! Ice creams that have been in deep freeze for ages. Not soft at all / rock hard. Icicles in the ice cream too. Was the only let down. Also Worth noting- Parking is an issue. Very limited car parking. In short: RECOMMEND.

It’s been quite a few years now since our last visit but last night we finally went back to the Mandarin Palace in my hometown of Hornchurch. I can honestly say that we won’t be leaving it very long before we return again. We enjoyed great Chinese food along with excellent friendly service from every member of the team. We also loved a couple of old school touches that reminded you of years gone by. Let’s begin with our arrival which really set the tone for the evening. It was as friendly as you could ever want before being escorted to our table. Once seated we were immediately brought a large helping of prawn crackers. We then ordered a pint of carlsberg (80s) and a glass of rose wine while we looked at the extensive menu. We decided that despite the appeal of the set menu’s we would order of the main menu to which the waitress was very helpful and said what order the food could be brought to the table. It sounded great so we left it with them. We started with the Gourmet Platter of Five Delicacies ( satay chicken , bbq spare ribs , pancake roll , sesame prawns on toast & crispy seaweed ). We followed this with the with the Assorted Steamed Dumplings. We now moved on to the main courses where we had the Dried Crispy Pork Belly with hot chilli & garlic , Spiced Chicken in garlic sauce , Mixed Vegetable Chow Mein & Spicy Singapore Fried Rice. All the dishes were perfectly cooked and full of flavour. We then moved to dessert and I was in for an old school treat when I saw the Fantastica on the menu. This is a crispy chocolate base with layered vanilla & caramel ice cream , caramel sauce and dusted with chocolate biscuit. I followed this with another treat as they did a Floater Coffee. This brought to an end an evening of great Chinese food with excellent friendly service that makes this restaurant a real credit to not only my hometown of Hornchurch but hospitality itself. I would definitely recommend a visit and for one can’t wait to return once again very soon.

Went here for a family meal, and after knocking over a beer and a bowl of sweet and sour sauce, before even ordering starters, we might not have been the favourite party to deal with. But the staff was very pleasant and efficient, and a visit from director, Johnny at the end of the evening made us all feel very welcome. The food tasted great, with ample servings and a wide range to choose from. This is an easy recommendation to make.

This place was great for a large family meal, staff were friendly and accommodating, outdoor enclosed smoking and drinking area at the back, street parking around.
